2 men were arrested after they led law enforcement officers on a chase from Salinas to San Jose yesterday. The 36-mile chase began after officers tried to stop a vehicle near the intersection of San Juan Grade and Russell Roads. The driver proceeded north, with an unregistered 40 caliber handgun reportedly being thrown from the vehicle near the intersection of Martines and Harrison Roads (north and east of the Sala Road Overcrossing). 22 year-old Edwin Sandoval, and 25 year-old Jesse Rodriguez, were booked into Monterey County Jail.
