A 23-year-old San Jose man was arrested in Aptos early Sunday morning, after attempting to flee from C-H-P officers. Officers tried to pull over Jose Antonio Escobar, after noticing that his vehicle had expired registration tags. He fled, leading officers on a chase from Highway-17, to southbound highway-1, at speeds reaching 120-miles per hour. Escobar was taken into custody after exiting at Park Avenue, and trying to flee on foot. He is facing several charges. A 28-year-old passenger in the car, Maribel Bartolo, was also arrested, for public intoxication.
