It’s been 7 years since Santa Cruz Police Sergeant Butch Baker and Detective Elizabeth Butler were shot and killed in the line of duty, and this afternoon a brief ceremony will be held in their memory. The public is welcome to attend the event, which will begin at 3:23 p.m. today….in the Baker-Butler Memorial Garden, which is located in the front courtyard of the Santa Cruz Police Headquarters at 155 Center Street in Santa Cruz.
