Several Central Coast animal rescue services are receiving reports of distressed penguins on the beaches. The birds which do resemble penguins are actually baby Murres. Murres are a species of sea bird that spends its life at sea except to breed or nest. If you see a baby Murre on a beach you should notify the local SPCA.
