The father of a teen, who died after falling through a blow hole at Garrapata State Park in the Big Sur area, is working to improve cell coverage in the area. 18 year-old Braxton Stuntz’ friends said the lack of cell coverage made it impossible for them to call for help. Due to the efforts of Michael Stuntz, the members of the Big Sur Multi-Agency Advisory Council are looking into a variety of methods to extend cell coverage past the Carmel Highlands.
