While we are cooperating with police as they investigate an anonymous report of an active shooter, there is currently no confirmation of a shooter and there have been no incidents of violence at any of our campuses today.

The following are the start dates for this school year in the Tri-county area (with many in Monterey county having started today): MONTEREY COUNTY:
Monterey Peninsula Unified School District: Aug 3
Salinas City Elementary School District: Aug 3
Salinas Union High School District: Aug 3

The Anzar Fire broke out at 3:21 p.m. Thursday in the area of Anzar Road near Forest Road. Once Cal Fire was on the scene, they found two fires rapidly spreading. Firefighters say that the 104-acre Anzar Fire was fully contained today.

The 104-acre Anzar Fire, that broke out Thursday afternoon in Aromas, is reportedly now 65% contained. 1 home and 1 garage were destroyed, and Evacuation Orders are still in-place for Forest Road. The other Evacuation Orders (for School and Anzar Roads and Harlan Way) have been downgraded to Evacuation Warnings.
