A groundbreaking ceremony took place in the city of Castroville yesterday marking the beginning of a new housing project. The 18-million dollar development plan consists of a 58-unit affordable housing project combining residential and commercial use with apartments built above businesses. The new development, which is an effort to revitalize the city by bringing more people and businesses into the community, will be located on 2 separate parcels 5 blocks apart on Merritt Street.
