Caltrans officials say a guardrail repair project on eastbound State Route 156 at Simonville in Castroville is taking place Monday, Feb. 25 and Tuesday, Feb. 26 between the hours of 9 am and 2 pm.
Roadwork consists of reversing one-way traffic control with flagging. There will be electronic message boards alerting travelers of any lane closure. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be present to ensure a safe environment for travelers, who can expect traffic delays of 15-20 minutes. All roadwork should be completed by 2 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 26.
The purpose of this project is to repair a recently hit and damaged guardrail, which is necessary for the safety of the traveling public.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway work zones.
