A fire that broke out in Castroville early this morning damaged three different restaurants. Officials say the fire started in the kitchen of Alfonso’s Mexican Food Restaurant on Merrit Street around 5 a.m. The Subway restaurant next door sustained significant fire damage along with another adjacent restaurant. Damages to all three restaurants are estimated at $500,000. No injuries have been reported. The cause is still under investigation.
