A Castroville pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday. The incident took place on Highway 183, north of Cooper Road, when shortly after 12:30 a-m, a 63 year old male attempted to cross the roadway and was strucj by a 19 year old female motorist heading toward Salinas. The motorist remained at the scene, drugs and alcohol do not appear to have a role in the fatality and no arrests were made.
