A bank in Castroville was robbed Friday afternoon, but the alleged robber was apprehended after trying to leave the scene in a taxi. 34-year-old watsonville resident Brandon west is accused of handing a threatening note to a teller at the bank on merritt street. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and got into a taxi, which was promptly pulled over by responding monterey county sheriff’s deputies. West was arrested after a brief foot chase.
