Media reports in San Francisco say federal investigators believe two attacks on law enforcement are the work of the same domestic terror cell, involving the man accused of killing Santa Cruz Sheriff’s deputy Damon Gutzwiller on Saturday.
The federal courthouse ambush in Oakland that left Federal Security Officer David Underwood dead two weeks ago and the attack on Gutzwiller that also wounded two other law enforcement officers are believed to be connected.
Steven Carrillo – who has been charged in Gutzwiller’s death — is also believed to be the gunman in the Oakland shooting. The driver of the van involved in the Oakland shooting remains at large.
