A Carmel Valley teen is in custody for choking her mother. The Monterey County deputies were called to a home on Sunday afternoon where a woman reported that her 17-year-old daughter had threatened her with a knife and choked her over a laptop she was holding. The girl fled the scene with the laptop, but was located and booked into juvenile hall. The woman sustained minor injuries and declined medical attention. An emergency protective order was issued. Their identities were not released.
