a new pedestrian and bicycle path along the carmel river has been constructed. the trail features both scenic inland and river views and provides an accessible alternative route to palo corona regional park. the big sur land trust secured a 1.2 million dollar grant from the california agency river parkways program to fund the construction of the public trail. the south bank trail is open to everyone walking and cycling, horses are not permitted.
