The Carmel Mission has been undergoing major changes, and the improvements are nearing completion. The $6 million project aims to strengthen the more than 220-year-old building, improving safety and increasing its resiliency to earthquakes. The Mission sees nearly 250,000 visitors a year, and now people will be able to view a 3-D model of the building online. The project is just a few hundred thousand dollars shy of being able to finish the repairs, which are expected to complete by the end of April.
