An elderly woman was rescued from her burning home in Carmel yesterday with the help of her caregiver. Firefighters from multiple agencies responded at 1:30 a.m. to Acacia Way near Mission Trails Park to find the 1st floor of the 2-story home engulfed in flames. Fire officials say an electrical problem in the caretaker’s room, was the cause behind the blaze. The 85-year old homeowner was woken up by the caretaker, who brought the woman outside before going back inside the home to call 9-1-1.
