An electric car charging station is set to debut tomorrow, in carmel. The charging station is the 1st of 4, that are planned for installation around the Monterey bay. Those stations are being installed with grant money from the Monterey bay unified air pollution control district. The 3 other so-called “volt pumps” will be installed in salinas, Watsonville, and san juan bautista. The opening ceremony tomorrow is scheduled for 10 a.m., in the sunset center parking lot on eighth avenue, in carmel. In addition to the first round of chargin stations, as many as 27-more are planned for installation soon, around the Monterey bay area.
