A new ordinance, introduced by the Capitola city council could streamline development plans for the Capitola mall.
Within the next year the developer and part owner of the mall ”Merlone Greier” is expected to submit a project concept to the planning commission. The concept calls for the construction of a mixed use plan of over 600-housing units and retail space.
The new ordinance establishes guidelines for negotiating contracts with developers for major projects, like the mall.
