a request for proposals for a new hotel in capitola was approved by the capitola city council at their meeting last night. councilman kirby nicol estimates that the hotel would generate at least 500-thousand dollars a year for the city in transient and occupancy taxes. the new hotel would be on the mcgregor road property next to new brighton state beach.
