A Capitola house went up in flames Monday afternoon. The fire was reported at 1:15 p-m, on the 400 block of Capitola Avenue, just minutes after power was restored to the neighborhood. Witnesses report hearing an explosion and then the house was engulfed in smoke and flames. Police secured the area as seven fire engines responded to the blaze. PG&E was also on scene to deactivate a downed power line at the fire. No one was home when the blaze broke out and no injuries have been reported.
