A Black Lives Matter march and open mic session is planned July 1 in Capitola.
The event begins at 5 p.m. at Monterey Avenue Park, according to an event flyer shared by NAACP Santa Cruz. The crowd will leave the park at 5:15 p.m., arrive at the Capitola police station at 5:30 p.m., advance through the Capitola Village at 5:45 p.m., then arrive at Esplande Park at 6 p.m.
Demonstrators will march back at 8 p.m. Face coverings and social distancing are requested.
