A FOUNDING MEMBER OF THE PARENT COMPANY FOR MONTEREY’S CANNERY ROW HAS PASSED AWAY. KNOWN TO MANY AS “CANNERY ROW GEORGE”, GEORGE ZAROUNIAN FORMED FOURSOME DEVELOPMENT COMPANY BACK IN 1969 (WITH HIS FRIENDS TED BALESTRERI, BERT CUTINO, AND THE LATE HARRY DAVIDIAN). ZAROUNIAN, WHO WAS A PROLIFIC ENTREPRENEUR, TURNED 93 YEARS-OLD DECEMBER 28TH, AND DIED JANUARY 3RD. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS BROTHER AND A GREAT-GRANDSON, AS WELL AS HIS WIFE OF 67 YEARS (WHO DIED IN AUGUST OF 2012). ZAROUNIAN IS SURVIVED BY HIS SON AND 2 DAUGHTERS, AS WELL AS 6 GRANDCHILDREN AND 5 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN. A FUNERAL SERVICE FOR THE WORLD WAR II VETERAN IS SLATED TO BEGIN AT 11 A-M AT SAINT MARY ARMENIAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH IN YETTEM CALIFORNIA.
