A candlelight vigil is now planned to honor the people killed in the Georgia spa shootings. The Asian-American and Pacific Islander community in Santa Cruz plans to stand in solidarity with a peaceful vigil at the Santa Cruz county offices on Saturday. The hour-long vigil is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at 701 Ocean Street and honor the victim’s of those shootings, but it’s also designed as a place for community members to be able to express their own experiences of grief, honor, and/or pride. People are encouraged to bring flowers, candles and other artistic expressions.
