The air medical transportation service CALSTAR Air Medical Services could open a new base at the Watsonville Muncipal Airport in the fall. The new base would mean closer services for Santa Cruz County residents and shorter response times for emergency air services. The county doesn’t have a trauma center and patients need to be airlifted to Salinas or San Jose.
