California is on track for a $7 billion budget surplus in the coming fiscal years.
The nonpartisan Legislative Analyst’s Office released its outlook for the 2020-2021 fiscal budget Wednesday. The state is also expected to have an $18.3 billion dollar balance in its rainy day fund by the end of the 2021 fiscal year.
The $7-billion surplus can be used during the upcoming state budget process without impacting the rainy day fund.
