In just 3 days, more than 70-thousand retired medical professionals (who have retired within the past 5 years, and still have active health care profession licenses) have come forward to join the California Health Corps. That after California Governor Gavin Newsom put out a call for health care professionals to staff the 66,000 additional hospital rooms he believes could be needed in the state once this coronavirus outbreak peaks.
