Cal Fire says it is investigating PG&E for possible “timber operation” violations following the CZU Lightning Complex fire in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
News reports cite several complaints brought against the utility company for not obtaining proper permits and licenses for cutting trees in the CZU fire zone. The utility disputes those claims.
PG&E’s unwillingness to get a permit also led to a letter from Santa Cruz County Supervisor, Bruce McPherson, and Assemblymember for the 29th District, Mark Stone.
