The repair work on a road in Carmel Valley is not expected to begin until this summer. From mile marker 1.2 to 2.0, there are several slip-outs on Cachagua Road caused by the winter storms, and apparently the soil is still moving in those areas……as it is under the bridge supports for Pfeiffer Canyon Bridge on Highway 1 in the Big Sur Area. The roadwork can’t begin on Cachagua Road until the soil stops moving, so that it can be determined what exactly will need to be done to fix the damaged roadway.
