The state assembly today unanimously passed a bill that would secure federal funding for establishing a health insurance-pool for high-risk patients. The bill is 1 of several that will revise California’s insurance laws to conform with the recent federal overhall. Once passed, the bills would secure 761-million dollars in federal funds, through 2014, to fund insurance coverage for about 30-thousand residents with pre-existing conditions. The bill passed 60-0, and now heads to the state senate for consideration.
