Authorities are reporting that the federal prison in Lompoc is the site of a Covid-19 outbreak. According to a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons Public Information office 854 inmates or 73 percent of the inmate population has tested positive for the virus. In response to the outbreak, inmate phone use as been suspended. So far 2 deaths have been reported at the facility.
