3 Southern California churches have filed suit against Governor Gavin Newsom and other officials. The suit seeks to block Governor Newsom’s month-old Stay-At-Home Order, and 2 County Orders, that are designed to slow the spread of Covid-19. Church officials from those churches argue that social distancing orders violate the First Amendment Rights to Freedom Of Religion and Freedom To Peace-Ably Assemble.
Citing a Supreme Court Ruling, a U.S. District Court Judge said the right to Freedom Of Religion doesn’t “include the right to expose the community to a communicable disease”.
