The California Highway Patrol has begun a year-long campaign of increased enforcement on Highway-129, near Watsonville. A 220-thousand dollar grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety is funding the enforcement effort, which will increase scrutiny on speeders in the area, from now through July 31st, 2011. The area targeted will be Highway-129 between Blackburn Street and Old Chittenden Road. The goal of the campaign is to reduce traffic accidents in the area.
