Governor brown today(th) appealed the federal government’s decision to deny emergency funding to cover costs incurred by a sever march storm system. The federal emergency management agency rejected the state’s request in june, saying that the storms were not a single event. Governor brown’s letter of appeal to president obama disputes that fact, contending that a single, low-pressure system produced the storms. The weather caused more-than 51-million dollars in damage and repair work, (some of which has occurred in Monterey and santa cruz counties).
