A California State Lifeguard is being credited with saving an 11 year old boy from possibly drowning at Monastery Beach. The incident took place in the afternoon when the boy was swept away from the shore while playing next to his mother. Lifeguard, Kevin Craig observed the child in distress and was able to pull him to saefty, where he was treated by paramedics before being taken to the hospital as a precaution.
