A Boulder Creek man was killed in a car collision on Highway 9 this morning. Officials say the incident occurred near California Drive shortly after 6:30. The 31-year-old victim was travelling northbound when he attempted to negotiate a turn and lost control of the vehicle. The car slid into oncoming traffic and was broadsided by a suburban, being driver by 38-year-old Boulder Creek resident Issac Brooks. The victim was declared dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. Officials say speed was factor in the collision. DUI is not suspected.
