The Santa Cruz county sheriff’s office is implementing a new tool to help eliminate contraband at the Santa Cruz County jail.
It’s a state of the art body scanner similar to the machine used at airport security checkpoints, that allows law enforcement to see just about everything.
Jail officials say they received the new scanner following a report by the grand jury earlier this year that called for tighter security at the jail… the scanner came at the cost of 175-thousand dollars. Next up for the jail: a drug sniffing dog.
