The santa cruz county sheriff’s department announced today that a missing person was found dead earlier this month in ben lomond. 57-year-old peter kouza died of alcohol-related causes, and no foul play is suspected. Kouza was reported missing on may 3rd; he was found that same day at an unauthorized campsite near the 9-thousand block of old county road. Kouza could have been dead for over a month. His body was covered by fellow campers. A warrant could be issued for failure to report the death, however an autopsy revealed kouza died from cirrhosis of the liver.
