The NOAA issued a warning to boaters and kayakers last week. The announcement came after last months boat collisions between 2 boats and 2 whales on the same day. NOAA Sanctuaries says that due to large schools of anchovies in the Monterey Bay, the waters are seeing the highest numbers of humpback whales in recent history. The agency is advising vessels of all types to give the whales a 100 yard berth.
