Some area residents have received fake bills for newspaper subscriptions, and the state attorney general is warning people not to pay them. Although the mailings appear legitimate, they are not. Some appear to come from companies such as “Magazine Payment Services”, “Lakeshore Publishers Service”, and “Magazine Billing Network”. Some of these scammers also offer the ability to pay your bill online. Residents are being advised to file a complaint with the California Attorney General’s Office.
