A TRANSIENT WAS ARRESTED FOLLOWING A VEHICLE BURGLARY IN BIG SUR YESTERDAY MORNING (SUN). DEPUTIES RESPONDED TO A REPORT OF THEFT AT JULIA PFEIFFER STATE PARK AROUND 6:30. OFFICIALS SAY THE VICTIM FOUND HIS CAR’S WINDOW SMASHED AND SEVERAL ITEMS STOLEN. HE THEN SAW A MAN RIDING AWAY FROM THE SCENE ON A BICYCLE. THE VICTIM PURSUED AND CONFRONTED 31-YEAR-OLD RUSSELL BOURNE, WHO RETURNED ALL OF THE STOLEN PROPERTY BEFORE RUNNING INTO THE BRUSH. DEPUTIES LATER LOCATED AND ARRESTED BOURNE. HE WAS BOOKED INTO MONTEREY COUNTY JAIL.
