The Big Sur Fire Department is reporting a rise in illegal camp fires. The agency is reporting fires are being started at impromptu gatherings up and down the scenic coastline. On Saturday the department extinguished for illegal fires in a 10 mile section of roadway. Those at illegal fire sites can receive 1 thousand dollar fines.
