Berry Big News from Driscolls 05.04.2020 0800 JS

Watsonville-based berry company Driscoll’s began offering large strawberries for sale, coinciding with National Strawberry Month.

Naomi Sakoda with Driscoll’s mentioned to KSCO that these were made to demonstrate its “more versatile uses”. Sakoda mentions that the timing of harvesting these berries along with the fact they are the first harvest for this season allows them to grow naturally large.

Named “Berry Big”, the fruit is free from G.M.Os and produced thanks to the extensive work of Driscoll’s “Joy Makers”; that’s what the team of Research and Development are named.

Berry Big strawberries are featured in packaging that includes a new label on how to recycle underneath the container, and are in a redesigned clamshell that is more recycling friendly.

Berry Big Strawberries are available at most grocers who carry Driscoll berries.
