The process of moving a number of un-housed people has begun in San Lorenzo Park in Santa Cruz. They are being moved from the Upper Park area , down to the Benchlands. The city’s “no-sleeping ban” is expected to begin to be enforced outside the Benchlands area. The city has agreed to make space for 122 permitted 12-foot-square campsites. Workers already had issued 100 camping vouchers by Tuesday afternoon.
A recent federal court ruling also gives the city the green light to resume general criminal enforcement at the park.
