Lifeguards in santa cruz county were kept busy on Saturday by a northwest swell that created multiple rip-currents, and left swimmers at various beaches in need of assistance. 2-boogie boarders were rescued at Manresa state beach, after being pulled away from the shore by a rip-current. Less than an hour after that 3:20 p.m. incident, 3-swimmers had to be assisted at twin lakes beach in live oak. And at 5 p.m., a person was aided at natural bridges state beach, after becoming stranded in a small cove when the tide came in. No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
