The city of Santa Cruz is introducing a pilot program, that allows vendors to apply for a spot along beach street (between the Wharf and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk). Those vendors will share 6 spots along the sidewalk, but will need a permit to do so.
The program is part of an on-going ‘conversation’ among city official s who are working to providing an effici ent and safe way for street vendors to be able to work in a tourist heavy area while still maintaining public health and safety. Vendors can apply at CityOfSantaCruz.com between now and April 26th, and if approved that permit would be valid from May 1st through December 25th.
