Beach Crowding in Santa Cruz County 3.23.2020 0820 js

The County of Santa Cruz Health Service Agency has issued a stern reminder about large gatherings, particularly those at beaches within the county.

In this press release, Sheriff Jim Hart states that “the County is asking everyone to adjust their routines in order to protect everyone’s health including their own, as well as the operations of our critical health infrastructure.

The reminder also mentions that those who are in violation of a health officer’s order are a misdemeanor that can result in citation and possibly arrest.

Meanwhile, Marin County dealt with parks overcrowding over the weekend. As a result, all parks within Marin county were shut down in response to the noncompliance with social distancing.

Santa Cruz County requests “voluntary compliance” while planning to keep parks open.
