The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors is commencing their regular meeting tomorrow morning.
On the agenda is consideration of imposing a beach access ban during the Labor Day weekend from the morning of September 5th to the evening of September 7, with exceptions after 8 PM to the early morning.
The extended closure times were requested by the cities of Capitola and Santa Cruz.
If passed, the restrictions will be like those implemented in the past, meaning no beach use except for water-based activities such as swimming, surfing, boogie-boarding, and kayaking.
Meanwhile, parkways, sidewalks, and trails will remain open to the public.
