The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is offering a special price for rabbit adoption following a local population explosion. A Boulder Creek man surrendered his 53 rabbits to the shelter after an officer received a tip about a welfare check. The owner admitted he was overwhelmed by the breeding rabbits and agreed to surrender all of the animals… except for six he wanted to keep for his petting zoo. The rabbits are now available for adoption for only $25 and they’ve all been spayed and neutered.
