Bank of America says it is working with four local nonprofits to provide face masks to underserved communities in the Monterey Bay Region.
The company said it is providing 76,000 masks, intended to go to communities that have been hit by COVID-19.
The masks will be distributed by the four local nonprofits.
- 50,000 will be given to the Grower-Shipper Association to be distributed to agricultural and plant processing workers.
- 14,000 will be given to the Food Bank for Monterey County to be distributed with groceries to area families and individuals.
- 10,000 will be given to Dorothy’s Place for the 1,100 chronically unsheltered people in case management or transitional housing.
- 2,000 will be given to Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County to be distributed at food distribution sites.
Nationwide, the company said it has donated more than 8 million masks to communities most impacted by COVID-19.
