demolition is underway on a pacific avenue bar, to make way for a new sports bar and lounge. the avenue bar was boarded up last month after numerous fire code violations and financial issues. the bar manager from clouds downtown and the co-owner of surf city billiards have teamed up to open kc’s sports bar in the former avenue location. the new sports bar is expected to create 2 dozen jobs, and is planned to be open by july or august.
